Flea markets and thrift stores are great places to find vintage lamps. The trick then becomes what type of lampshade to place upon them. We gave these 1940's lamps a shabby chic look by taking chainette fringe and dipping it into bleach to create a faded, aged look. We took a purchased lampshade, cut away bottom part of shade 3/4" from top, glued on the chainette ringe then trimmed off with Chinese braid. A DIY that will shed new light onto your room!
